Notices and enrolment forms are available below, inviting parents or guardians of Catholic children in Year Three (who feel their child is ready) to apply for the 2018 Reconciliation preparation programme.
Beginning with an important information night on Wednesday 17 October our volunteer teams will conduct two extended sessions for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at each parish centre. The Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist will follow in 2019.
As during last year, parents will be strongly encouraged to attend the classes alongside their child and to take part in the 5.30pm Vigil or a Sunday Mass throughout the weeks of the programme.
The decision to prepare for Reconciliation and the later sacraments must be taken carefully, with a view to genuinely allowing your child to be part of the worshipping community and so to mature in his or her faith.
Each family must bring a completed enrolment form and a copy of the child’s Baptism certificate to the information night. If the Baptism took place in Adamstown, Cardiff or Kotara churches, it is enough to provide the details called for on the enrolment form, to allow checking in All Saints Parish register.
Baptised Catholic children at our state schools are also very welcome to take part in the preparation. Notices will be delivered to public schools this coming week for inclusion in those school bulletins.
Preparation sessions will be held after school on weekday afternoons or evenings, for greater convenience to families and volunteer leaders involved.
Any parent or other adult who wishes to assist on the programme will be very welcome, once government Volunteer Registration has been completed.
